Rayovac’s Portage, WI plant is proudly flying the American Flag. This Battery company, has a long history starting back in 1906. They manufacture batteries, flashlights, bulbs, chargers and more. The picture here in this post is their plant in Portage, WI. They are  celebrating 50 years at this site. I contacted Rayovac and a representative mentioned that they have facilities in Fennimore, Portage (as shown above)and Middleton Wisconsin in which they all are proudly flying the American Flag. Proudly made in America and flying the American Flag. 

Rayovac will be celebrating 110 years of American (Wisconsin) manufacturing in January 2016.

Furthermore, battery technology has come a long way. In 1906 Rayovac started selling a 6 inch battery cell to be used in telephones. Look at our smart phones today.

Look at our  batteries now, look how far technology has come. Flashlight batteries start to sell in 1910. Jump ahead to 1988 they introduces a new computer clock battery for personal computers, as well as other devices

Joseph Fazzio was founded in 1965 by Joseph p. Fazzio. Today it is still a family owned third generation company. Joseph Fazzio has two locations, Glassboro and Farmingdale, New Jersey. Glassboro is the head quarters sitting on 28 acre site offering a massive 36,000 ton inventory. Fazzio’s has way too many items to list here. They have industrial supplies including steel, metal which include sheets of steel, tubing, beams and etc. They also provide fabrication service like plasma cutting and drilling just to name a few. Joseph Fazzio also has new and used industrial surplus like welders, welding supplies, abrasives, lifting & rigging, anchors, cutting tools, material handling, fleet & trailer supplies, masonry products. Fazzio Has Almost Everything

Fazzio started some years ago with just a house and a small building. The founder would buy from companies that were going out of business mostly hardware and industrial businesses.  He would simple resell that product. After years of growing it was very common for one to say try Fazzio’s they have almost everything.

Vision

I believe I heard though others who know the founder that he really had a small farm and sold produce. Joseph had a vision, most people in that area had farms so he had a vision to buy from used and new products from hardware stores and resell sell it. Read a good article in inc.com about vision. Like Joseph he had a vision but he executed it.

I was in El Paso,Texas again for a few weeks. As I was there we stop at a Steak restaurant. As we pulled up to the restaurant the first thing I notice was American Flags flying in the outside dining area. I took some pictures of the outside area. We walked inside and order a steak burger because it was just too hot outside in Texas in July. Original Great American Steak are know for their steaks and steak burgers. I ordered their well known steak burger, and to my surprise I was served a juicy burger with a little American flag.

I can drive around and see many diners with American Flags flying but usually not restaurants. I only have one post of a diner flying the American flag because I  was just starting to post American Flag Sighting and that was a diner near my home town

Just another example of a great American business and proud enough  to fly American flag. well in this case flying many American Flags.

Along Route 26

Driving along Route 26 headed to the beaches in Delaware I noticed all the American flags Flying in front of businesses not because it’s Fourth of July but because these businesses fly proudly all year long.

From small a small Deli named Ocean view Deli to condo’s I passed by the usually flag flying businesses like fast food restaurants, car lots and Banks. But I love seeing the hundreds of other small businesses of American Flags along Route 26. I wish I could stop and get a history of their business. How they got started and what or who inspired them.

Plaza Reality In Beautiful Elephant Butte, New Mexico

While visiting my son in Texas.  He took us to beautiful New Mexico where I spotted this American Flag at Plaza Realty.  We were headed to Elephant Butte State Park  in Sierra County, New Mexico. Plaza Realty is located  in Elephant Butte where they serve as a reality firm for Sierra County in New Mexico. When you drive up to this mini plaza you are in the middle of no where, but what a beautiful area. Elephant Butte Park is just off  Warm Spring Boulevard.  The park has a beautiful huge lake which ia a reservoir created by the Rio Grande.  A major advantage to this Park is that you drive right onto the beach with your jeep or truck.  This gives you the benefit of setting up camp for just the day or overnight. Setting up camp allows  you can enjoy all that the reservoir has offer.  You see people camping right on the beach. They go swimming, boating, ride their jet skis or just lay in the sun.  Elephant Butte is not just a great vacation spot, but a great place to live.  Truth of Consequences, another town in Sierra County, is known for its geothermal mineral waters and offers many historic nature trails and Hot Springs as it was formally known.   New Mexico is a  vast open area of miles and miles of open land, so if you are looking for a place to call home whether it is ranching, farming or a single family home Elephant Butte, Truth or Consequences  or  Sierra County may be the place for you.  If you are interested in find out more about these area Check out the Plaza Reality website .  Americans are resilient people who set  up a business in many different places and no matter where you go in American, American businesses show their pride by flying the American flag in front of their business

Josephs is another example of a company who started small in 1988 with lawn care now they expanded to a full service company. According to their website they offer irrigation, power washing, asphalt, lot sweeping, turf care, snow service management, lawn maintenance and award winning landscape design and construction.

True Value is one of the worlds biggest, member owned cooperatives who are in 58 countries and over 4000 retail locations according to true Value’s website.  While I was in Manayunk Pennsylvania and saw the American Flag proudly flying in front of the Stanley’s True Value. I had to stop and take a picture. Since I stopped to take a picture I had time to go inside and look around. I was approached by an employee with a smile while I was in the store looking around. As I shopped around and saw all the items they sold I could not stopped thinking about how us Americans are doers. True Value and other home improvement centers sell things to customers so they can get things done.

We are not afraid to get are hands dirty. Stanley’s True Value sells paint, tools, barbecue grills and yes American Flags. I also was thinking about the owners or cooperatives had the guts to start a business. The American dream, the freedom to start a business, any business. Pool Store Flying American Flag. I rode by another American Flag Sighting at The pool Store. I never knew it was there. Look at these nice Colors. The American flag in front of The Pool Store building in red and white with the blue sky in back ground.

The Pool Store has three locations West Berlin and two stores in Sewell, New Jersey. Their web sites mention that they have a complete line of swimming pools which it includes pool chemicals, supplies and equipment. The Store specializes in the installation of in-ground vinyl pools, in-ground liners, safety covers, salt systems and pool equipment.

What I like is the Pool Store mentions that they have years of experience. I know this myself that it is important to get the correct answer to your swimming pool questions. There is nothing more frustrating when you are having pool problems either chemical or mechanical. You what the right answers from a professional.

American businesses come in all sizes, as Americans it seams that most of us are born as natural entrepreneurs. We are always thinking out of the  box. We are survivalist, always looking for a ways to survive financial or just make things better. I know I take pictures of American companies big or small but I just had to take a picture of this American Flag Flying on an antique farm tractor. Maybe this is not a business (although they do sell fire wood) but I just had to take this picture. I love the idea of hanging an American Flag on an antique tractor. John Deere made things better for American farmers. At the age of 17 john Deere was a black smith in Vermont. he latter move to Illinois to look for work. John Deere heard from farmers complaining that their plows were breaking in the hard soil in Illinois. john know he could make it better. He redesigned and made the plow out of steel not the cast iron plows the farmers where using. Check out this link, nicks history of antique tractors.
